Its been said our immaterial soul and spirit will be separated from our physical body and that we will immediately receive the judgment that will determine our eternal destiny. Some believe we sleep till the end. Some believe we roam the earth as spirits. What's your take on this question?

i guess it all depends on ur what ur spiritual beliefs are... as for me personally, i believe that when we take our last breath we flash thru the major moments of our lives and the people we love the most. when ur spirit leaves ur body, i believe that our guides and our loved ones who've passed on before us are there to greet us and to make the transition easier. we're then taken to a place where we can heal and learn to be as we are until we're ready to move onto another plane. i don't believe that when someone passes, they're completely gone... they're still with us and around us, watching and guiding us in our lives.

Our Last Breath

From a physical point of view, after you have breathed your last breath, the body will rapidly feel itself with your blood and all other fluids and there will be an exhale, but it will not actually be like a breathing exhale - I used to do hospice care. From a spiritual point of view - once your soul has left the body it will either go to heaven or hell - it will not face the judgement until judgment day and then it will be judged. It will experience the tortures of hell, but after the judgment it will also experience the realization of all the times one chose to reject Jesus Christ and the tortures of hell, and then when thrown into the lake of fire, a third and final event, it will know the eternal separation of God and the finality of having rejected Christ.

If it is sincerely your last breath, maybe so.

Try holding your breath for a really long time. See if you can see your soul start to skip out on the seams a little.

Bubba Hotep said the soul leaves through an orafice - since you'll probably have your mouth shut during this experiment, you'll need a lot of mirrors to check each orafice. Look for glowing or misty bits starting to just-eak out of the orafice.

As soon as you gasp for air again, you should see the glowing-misty thing re-enter the orafice. It sometimes gives you a tingling sensation.

If you don't see any, you didn't hold your breath long enough.

Personally, I'm most comfortable with reincarnation. The belief that when we die our souls are reborn into another body, be it a human or animal….maybe even a tree. The idea of heaven or hell, that you only have one chance to live life in the correct manner, is ridiculous. There is so much to for us to learn and understand, there is just no way you could do it in one lifetime.

the lungs collapse like an empty balloon, any oxygen left in the body becomes unused and like sands through an hourglass... your dead.... dead ... dead...

that seems to be where people figure out that anything other than dead was just a thought, and you are as gone as a bug on the windshield of life squashed into oblivion and washed away by the high school cheerleaders fund raising carwash on the corner gas station.... live till the windshield hits you!

Gen 2:7 (KJV). 1) dirt; 2) the breath of life; 3) equals a LIVING soul. We are the soul, we do not posses one. When we die, Like Porky Pig used to say "That's all folks". We are dead, We know nothing, think nothing, do nothing, say nothing, go nowhere, see nothing. How much more clearly I can put it? When you are dead, that IS IT. End Of Story!

I haven't taken my last breath, but I do believe I will be in heaven with the Lord once that happens.

Yes I do believe we will all face a judgement. Just exactly what time frame it will take, I don't know.

Trust me! We lay in over bodies for a short while, then go off with our friends who come to receive us. If you are a Xian you walk into a white light of their relatively evil current. I dont know of the other religions.

We die, then our spirit/soul will rise up to Heaven (or Hell if you been bad) and your eternal life will begin. Amen
