I really like the name Angelina but then I thought if I name my daughter that then people are going to relate it to Angelina Jolie (I like the girl, don’t get me wrong) but not sure if I want people to think Angelina Jolie every time they hear my daughters name, then my husband suggested Angelene. I just don’t know!!

What do YOU feel like? Someone once said "a rose is a rose is a rose and by any other name smells just as sweet" but to me, I use variations and nicknames for myself depending on my mood, The names don't really imply different people, just different aspects of myself. For example, Christina when I am visiting Grandma, Tina around my friends and "Teaser" when I am the sultry late night me.
There's nothing wrong with being in the same thought as Angelina Jolie, BTW, a LOT of men (and women) think she's very attractive and sexy. Not a bad association, if you ask me.
Then again, you could be Angel, or Angela too, or Angelene. All of them are still just that wonderful person you are.
People will love you, not your name.

Angelene is very pretty. it has a nice sound to it, like something you would hear in a southern folk song. But Angelina is pretty, too. You should look up a baby name internet site that tells the percentage of people with each name to get a better idea of how often ppl would think of jolie if you named her Angelina.

Angelina is a beautiful name....if you have no problem with Angelina Jolie, I don't think it should prevent you from naming your daughter that...i don't think people will think ANGELINA JOLIE everytime they hear your daughter's name....and if they say something like that, just tell them that you like the name Angelina.....or you can name her Angelina and then call her Angelene as a nickname ???

Why not shorten it to Angel or Angela? I think either Angelina or Angelene is going to remind people of the actress. You could use it as her middle name, and just call her that in private. Or you could bank on the fact that the actress may not be in vogue in 5-15 years when your child is growing up.

What if you name your daugter Angle Lina instead of Angelina? Likw Angel as the first name and Lina as the middle name.

That's something you are going to have to truly ponder yourself.This name is what your child is going to be called all of her life, so I wouldn't just depend on the opinions stated here.I would just take my time, think about how each name sounded, then decide on which name you like best.
