He crosses the bridge while he is swinging both buckets up and around in circles so one bucket is over his head while the other is down. The centrifical force will keep the water in the bucket and only the weight of one bucket will be upon the bridge with his weight at any given moment. The other is weightless on the bridge.

maybe he has a pole with strings at the end. he ties the string to each handle of the buckets of water (im assuming that the buckets are filled). puts the buckets on the body of water (im guessing this is a river) one bucket on the right, one bucket on the left... he holds the pole and drags it across the bridge. so technically he's not carrying 2 buckets of water.
but why the hell would he need to cross the bridge with buckets filled with water, when he can fill them up at the end of the bridge?

I don't know the exact answer, but I assume the bridge is crossing water, so he could just dump the buckets out, cross the bridge, go back to the shore and refill them on the other side.

Let's assume this isn't a very long bridge. He puts the two buckets on skateboards and slids them across the bridge real fast. Then he walks to the other side.

he is balancing them over the edge so its only and the weight is only like half of each or something so only 40 of the 80 pounds of water is actually on the bridge thus its only 145 kilos on the bridge something like that i think
