In Toronto do not miss the Theatrical production of Lord of the Rings.
I've made some great purchases in Toronto.
Catch a Blue Jays game.
Between Toronto and Niagra falls there are many wineries. If you are into wines, stop in for tasting.
If you've never been to Niagra falls then -
Take the trip under the falls
Visit the butterfly house
Definitely do the gorge trip
Check out the sky needle.
There is a Hard Rock Cafe
There is a Casino
Do the 360 degree theatre - whatever it's called.
Avoid the wax & Riply's museums unless you're really into that stuff. (expensive)
Have fun - it's a great area.
P.S. I'm from Michigan.

Definitely get tickets to go and see Lord of the Rings in Toronto. If you're into Hockey, there's the Hall of Fame in downtown Toronto and for shopping, go to the Eaton Centre. If you're not afraid of heights, the CN Tower and if you're into museums, either the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) or the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). I can't help much on the nightclubs since I've been out of that scene for quite a while now. Have a good trip.

When you get to Toronto, pick up a copy of the Toronto Sun in Mississauga - it has a great entertainment section that lists all the spots to go to. Once you get to TO (right next door, to the east) you can also pick up two free papers called "NOW" and "EYE," which are alternative papers listing even more places to party.

As for the sights, well, the CN Tower is great (I used to work there) but try to go on a sunny day or all you see is fog. If you are staying in a hotel, they will have great pamplets on Things To Do In Toronto which will help you choose what's to your taste - it would take weeks if not months to do everything!

Centre Island is a cool place to visit, too, you take a ferry across lake Ontario to get there. Welcome and have a great time!

Too bad you are not going to the Canadian rockies. The town of Jasper and also Banff would be great to visit for great scenery. Take a VIA train ride from Toronto to JAsper, then a bus tour trought the rockies to Banff and Lake Louise and back, the take the train back to Toronto
