Fabrics, especially on the walls - curtains, tapestry, carpet, artwork on canvas can even work. The idea is to get things in the room to absorb the sound waves, rather than simple let the bounce off.

Curtains on the windows, carpeting on the floor. If that does not do it, try putting 'soft art' on the walls, depending on your decor, a picture, if you are doing country or something a quilt.
I would think larger plants in the corners could also be used to absorb sound.

Add decor'. Curtains, wall hangings, plants. This will fill the room and absorb sound prevent the sound from reaching open arias where they can echo.

Echo can be reduced by capeting, curtains, and ceiling material.
Anything you can do to reduce the number of hard, smooth surfaces will help.
