Jehovah's Witnesses have at least one point correct from the Bible: Jesus commanded us to preach the gospel to every creature (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15). They are not the only ones to carry out this command, but they are one of the few groups to do this.

Mind you, I disagree with 99% of the rest of what they teach.

People (including you, I suppose) might consider it harassment, because we have somehow reached the point as a society where we believe that it's wrong to tell somebody they're wrong. Nobody I've run across in Yahoo Answers has THAT problem! :)

The Scriptures indicate that Jesus personally instructed his disciples to go door-to-door. Although they are a relatively small religion, Jehovah's Witnesses clearly embody the most prominent global fulfillment of that Christian assignment. Frankly, you can call yourself a Christian all day long, but if you disregard the door-to-door preaching work, who are you really disregarding?

(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. 3 Go forth. Look! I am sending you forth as lambs in among wolves. ...16 “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

Unlike Christendom, Jehovah's Witnesses will NEVER disregard preaching, Jesus, or Jehovah God! The evidence is clear that Jehovah's Witnesses are performing Christ's work and thus they are, in fact, the only true Christians today.

I don't consider what Jehovah's Wittnesses do "harrassment" any more than anybody who shares their faith. I respect people who have enough faith in their beliefs to get out and share them much more then someone who sits on their a$$ all day thinking about how superior they are like the majority of Christians, then verbally attacks anyone who disagrees with them. The JWs, Mormons, etc. that have knocked on my door have all been amiable even when I told them I was an athiest. The baptists, on the other hand...

I know some of them, one of my ants was one, and I have never been 'harassed' by a single one. If, however, you mean that they tried to talk to you about their religion, then I have to say that they are doing what they can to get you to be saved, they certainly have no intention of 'harassing' anyone. No, I am not a Jehovah's Witness.

They dont harass people. They are doing what Jesus told them 'To preach the good news of the the Kingdom' Its plain and clear in your Bible too. If you really dont like it ask them to put you on a do not call list and they wont bother you.

On basic tenant of the Jehovah Witness faith is to be a "witness for Jehovah". There is a scripture that instructs believers in Christ to go out into the world and spread his message, as the apostles would do. The apostles were the "beloved of Christ", and to are the witnesses (if you were to believe in their faith).

They are taught to preach the word of God's kingdom and try to help people save themselves, instead of dying with this system of things. If you read the bible you would know that Jesus and his disciples did the same, and the bible also says the good news will be preached throughout the entire world. So their actions are bible-based.

Huh, did the Harri Krishna all retire?
And those Salvation Army music bands?
And don't the bell towers still toll on Sunday and don't the Islamic minarets still chant their prayers for all to hear.
Let's not discriminate now ;-)

Apparently you haven't met the "born again" pentacostals from the south. Their judgemental philosophies make the witnesses look like winnie the pooh
