Read the Gospels. The Book of John has probably the most references to heaven & eternal Life. Try John 3:16 for starters.

The Bible nowhere commands that one is to "accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior."
However, Jesus did say, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). He is the way; therefore, there is no other way.
One must do the will of the Father to go to heaven (Matthew 7:21).

where? (John 14:6)
why?
say that you know someone who is homeless, and you save them from the streets, being cold and hungry and you offer them the greatest things that you have, and give them all the best that you have in your home... you saved them!
but there is a problem.. they don't recognize what you have done for them.
would you want someone to come live with you forever, if they didn't think you were a real ? or if they acted like you were just a figment of someones imagination? or if they didn't really want to be there? or treated your family like they were bastards?
neither would God.

I don't have the verse in front of me, but I know in one of the gospels Jesus says something to the effect of "there is no way to the Father except by Me."
Then, of course, there's that old standby, John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever should believe in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
Of course, I don't believe any of that nonsense, but you asked about the Bible references.

Mark 16:15-16 - And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Heb. 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
John 8
Jesus Predicts His Departure
21 Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come."
22 So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself, because He says, 'Where I go you cannot come'?"
23 And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
25 Then they said to Him, "Who are You?"
And Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him."
27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
28 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. 29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him." 30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.

He will intercede to God on your behalf if you have faith in him.
Therefore salvation through faith.
If you beleive it, it will be.
Even the theif on the cross asked to go to his father's house at the very last minute and Jesus took him.
