Changing foods is fine, as long as the cat likes the new food. Brush the cat and get a food with hariball treatment in it. Buy a small bag first to see if he likes it , personally, my cat has no problem with rotating different foods each month. I figure - I wouldnt want to eat the same thing every single day of my life - why would he? The only food he doesnt like is IAMS. Purina, Purina One, Eukenba (sic), etc - loves em
all in all flavors

You can definitely change the cat's food, but not all at once. Start by just mixing a little of the new with a lot of the old and start working the ratio down until it's all the new stuff. You could talk to the vet and the local pet store (not petsmart or petco, just a local one) about both the foods and the hairball issue as well.

Changing a cats food can be tricky. You will in fact do some (however little) harm if you just run out of your old food and change to a new one. The correct way to change your pets' diet is to slowly add the new food in with the old one... and every day add a little more new food and a little less old food until you are eventually just using the new food. Up and running out and changing foods could cause your cat not to eat at all, depending out how picky he or she is.

Unless your cat is on a prescription diet, of course you can change his food. However, you will need to do it slowly -- because a sudden change can cause tummy trouble. You can mix two kinds of food together (dry, that is) and then shift the percentage of one to the other to make the transition.
Ideally, feeding premium foods is best for kitty's health. Iams makes a good dry food made for the hairball problems, and it's now available in grocery stores.

No Cat food has hair balls in it - twit !
It wont do your cat any harm, unless there is a medical reason, to change its food - in fact, it will probably help the cat.
How would you like to have to eat the same food, twice a day, for the whole of your life ?!

You can try to change a cats food- but it may no choose to accept the change. Cats can go up to 10 days without food- you will crack first. And when he coughs up hairball and a little sick everywhere you will regret trying

Sure, but similar to babies, you must slowly wean them off of the old food.Look online for tips on how to do that.I recently adopted a cat from the ASPCA and they mentioned that.

yes you can change your cats food as long as you change over to the new food gradually and not all at once. So talk to your vet about what would work best for your cat.
