It means that, like most employers, God is the only one with a complete overview of the entire situation. Whenever He does something, most of the time (like employees) we don't know why he does it. He just wants us to take it on faith that He knows what he is doing. It is usually a mystery, and sometimes we never know for sure.

It means that the person who is trying to answer the question doesn't have a good answer, or an answer that makes logical sense, or an answer that doesn't put God in a bad light. Another possibility is that they believe that the answer will reveal itself at some point in the future, as things unfold, but that the answer is unknowable NOW. So, instead of trying to answer the question, they'll say that it's beyond our puny little human minds to be able to understand why something happened in the way that it did, or, in short: "God works in mysterious ways."

It means that God's work is out of the ordinary, out of this natural realm. It doesn't happen the way you pray it would, but it does, and it's usually more better than you could ever pray for.

For instance, I asked God to help me in my finances. It was hard for me to pay my car note, and insurance on time. I had an accident not long after, and the car was declared totaled. The insurance company paided off the car. So now even though I have no car, I don't have to pay a car note or insurance. I have more money in my pocket to get a better car.

God is always on time. He's never late. He doesn't work by our clock, only His. What we pray for maybe delayed, but not denied because He knows when, where, and how to answer our prayers.

God Bless!

I am struggling with this right now. A coworker left an hour ago, he got a call saying his son was in a serious accident. I just found out that he has now died. His son was 10 years old - he was hit by a truck.

I know that God ordained this but it is a mystery to me. I would dare say it is a mystery for all of us. Sometimes his ways are amazing, sometimes they are heart-wrenching, almost always though - his ways are mysterious.

Why God?

If you break you question up it might bring you closer to the desired answer. What is a mystery. It is something that has not yet been understood how it happened. The blessing of a child is still a mystery. Everyone knows that it takes sperm and eggs. But what really goes on in the egg that creates the child. We know that they merge together. We know how to study them after fertilization but what happens in the middle is a mystery.
The Bible is full of mysteries. But they don't remain as mysteries if you are willing to seek them out.

Well many cliches could explain it like "He may not come when you want Him, but He's always on time"...but for a more contemporary explanation..God is so beyond the mind of a human that He can work in ways that we are not even capable of tapping into! He's just that awesome..He is an awesome wonder..so we will never 'figure Him out' and we cant put limits on Him..especially if we are believing Him to work out something in our lives. So if you are a believer..then keep believing! God is awesome!

It means that god does not have to take responsibility for any of the horrors of the world .... one is supposed to look at things such as dead raped babies not as a bad thing that god has allowed but as a good thing that we do not understand .. thus "god moving in mysterious ways"

It is just a really grand cop out.

It means God kind of goes under cover like a spy, and does things you never thought would happen, less or more, you think it would NOT solve a problem/perform a miracle.

You may not understand it, but it is like this:

Life is a movie:

God has seen the movie, he also directs it.

We have seen commercials, yet we want to see the WHOLE thing.

It's a cop-out to justify how a "benevolent" God could allow such suffering in the world.

The fact is, if God does exist, he's pretty callous. Just look at the world today. If he's God, why not help us out a bit?
