I'm a scrapbooker using Creative Memories products (also a consultant) and am looking for wedding invitation design ideas that are easy, classic and NOT computerized-looking. Anyone have samples online where they can post a link?

I made my own invites, which I really like. I am an avid scrapbooker too, and used www.mygatsby.com and went to the Envelopement line. We re-created the 9x5 envelopement. We ordered one in, tore it apart to make a template, and bought our own paper and embellishments. Check out the pic at

I don't have an example, but I only had 1 month to plan my wedding so I made my own invitations. They where simple yet cute, I bought some computer paper with a boy & girl background and I typed out my invitation using a text I thought was nice and then I printed them. They turned out really nice and it was fairly cheap to do.

I made close to 500 invites for my January wedding.
What it was, was a piece of velum paper that had sparkles in it tied with a ribbon on the top to the actual invite and all that was, was a blue piece of pauper cut to the same size as the velum.
Then we sent out invites for just the dance and that was the blue paper with white paper (which was used for the RSVPs and the hotel info and the registry info) with blue ink and then it was off set just slightly in ether corner of the blue paper. we then used the silver ribbon in the corners or a snowflake sticker to give it just a little more ummmf.
On the velum paper we printed our names Jessica & Brian and then when you opened it it was the invite with the date and time. I printed it all off our home computer. Its not hard and a fun way to get all of the girls over to help!!
Don't forget that perfect square invites will be more to ship.
Ours were 6X6.

I don't have my real ones done yet and haven't posted this one... but I will try to describe:
Initially I was getting married in December with the color navy blue so I made sample invitations -
1. cut 8.5x12 navy card stock into two 8.5x6 pieces (one piece used as base)
2. cut 8.5x12 white card stock as underlay (I trimmed it 2 centimeters on each side so that it allows the navy to sit as a backdrop) - glue in middle of base
3. WORD type document: page set-up landscape 8.5x12... two columns... type your message in first column... copy and paste to second column... choose a font that suits you best - I used "kunstler script" and had a quote at the top "Tis the season for love..." - I just used black font too - it looked best
4. Print on white vellum (with white polkadots)
5. Cut vellum in two (so that both columns are now two separate invitations)
6. Trim vellum so that it slightly overlays the white card stock.
7. Glue
8. Put a small navy ribbon (in a bow) in upper right corner of vellum
9. Using snowflake punches of varying sizes, punch snowflakes in various shades of blue and finish your invitation...
It seems like a lot of work - but once you've made the snowflakes in mass (I have a couple of scapping friends that said they'd help me) then the other work happens quickly!

i don't have examples, but have u looked at target? they have a pre-made do it yourself wedding invitation kit. it looked nice and it's in the scrapbooking aisle
