I was a walking deadman............meaning I had cancer for years and didn't know it!! I do remember some symptoms......low grade fever, blurred vision at times, feeling like I would faint if I got up too quickly, loss of appetite, etc. I had ovarian cancer and all my paps came back fine...It wasn't until my ovary ruptured and I started to bleed internally, that I was diagnosed, along with having an emergency surgery.

Different cancers behave differently. But some of the classic symptoms in cancers are: unexplained fever lasting for more than 10 days, same for coughing, loss of appetite, warts grow in size, wounds wont heal, lumps, ulcers in the mouth, blood in stools and vomits.

Most tumors can be removed by surgery, and for surgery to be possible it is important to detect cancer in the first stages. This is possible by regular examination and blood tests by qualified medical examiners. Self tests also help detect a lot of cancers in early stages for example breast cancer.

You usually need a test to confirm it though signs may be pretty suggestive.

Test include tissue biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, blood tests etc. It depends on what is suspected
