Perhaps, you mean a particular place in India rather in India itself. Looking from the languages you mentioned, you're probably talking about the state of Karnataka, oh which Bangalore is the capital of.

Here, you can manage with English. Kannada is the official language of this state and it is good to know, but not essential. Many people know Hindi but it is a third langauge, that's all. Tulu and konkani are not that widely spoken and anyway most people who know these languages probably already know Kannada.

I'm learning Hindi and I love it. It lets me watch Hindi movies and talk to people and such. I do know that I won't be able to get around all of India with it, but it covers a lot. You can't help but learn some urdu along the way. I've not yet gotten all of devanagri down, but when I do, I'll switch to learning how to read urdu

There aren't any "best" or "worst" languages. They all accomplish what they're meant to, and are as complicated and simple as they need to be.
