Was this guard out of line. I was in the hospital with a lung infection, I asked my doctor if I could visit another floor. Since he wanted me to walk around he said ok. I went to the cafeteria and bought a cookie, there was a security guard in there and she came up to me, attracting unwanted attention, and started questioning me. I told her what room I was in, what my orders were and then asked her if I was in jail? She came to the room to "check" on me. I was very angry, would you be?

Yeah, you should make a complaint to her manager. Thats the reason why patients wear wristbands.

Get over it. The guard is doing their job. And how did she "attract unwanted attention"? You're in hospital gown, eating a cookie, and wandering around. Sounds like you had enough "unwanted" attention.

Since you were visibly a patient, and it's not very common for patients to mosey down to the cafeteria, the guard was probably concerned that you were not supposed to be ambulatory. You might have been under the influence of medications and wandered off.

Guards are there for your safety and also to be sure patients don't "wonder" off, many patients are not always of complete sound mind, and others sadly are criminals and do wonder around a hospital to steal things,

So he was doing his or her job. You should feel glad that they have staff who really do thier job.

And someday you'll hear about a person in the hospital when they werent supposed to be, and the first thought in your head will be "Why didnt the guards question him?!?!?!?!"

He was just doing his job. Would you want just anybody walking around there if you were sick?
