First, fold the piece of string in half. Then cut it into 6 equal pieces.

Lay the pieces side by side and label them 1 - 6.

Measure the width of each piece and multiply this by the length of each individual piece until you have 6 numbers. Add these together, find the square root of the resultant number and divide this by the number of pieces of string left after shaking the table.

This wont give you the original length, but it would have kept you off of here long enough to give everyone a rest!!!!!

How am i supposed to kbnow how long a piece of string is. It depends what job you are doing with string whether its a big or small job.
