Cause I'm sure that if it wasn't Jesus, there had to be a few "close calls" or guesses along the way, just as there has been about the identity of the Antichrist. Granted, obviously the true Messiah hasn't arrived yet, otherwise we would have heard something, but who have the Jewish community thrown out as possibilities in the past?
And, on that note, was there people BEFORE Christ that people waved the "Messiah" alarm for?
If you have nothing else to say, but to tell me to "read the bible," shut up. I have. Christians need to realize that people have different views, and that it doesn't make them sinners. Jesus' one true message was compassion for our fellow man, not just those who believe.
And on that note, its funny to me how a man could be the PERFECT christian, and do the work of God for all his life, and not sin throughout all his life, but if he follows the muslim faith, Christian belief sends him to hell, even if it may be the same God, with a different name, Allah...

they still wait. they cannot accept Christ as the savior. they may have missed the boat waiting for a train. maybe we Christians got on a boat when we should have waited for the train. maybe no one really goes anywhere and we are all wasting our time. but for me I'll enjoy the cruise for now

It sounds like you're on the right track, - but here's a couple of things for you to chew on.
The Jews were expecting a Messiah, one that would rescue the jewish people from oppression (from the Romans) and set up God's Kingdom on earth. Obviously, Jesus walking around, teaching peace / repentence, didn't help the Jews at all re-defining what a "messiah" would be. NOBODY would have considered this guy a messiah, but maybe a spiritual healer, prophet, -with a wait-and-see attitute towards him. Either that, or an attitude of he's a potential threat, let's kill him, -just to be sure.
So to the jewish leadership, this guy name Jesus was just one of many that come along. For all the stuff we're reading today about the "Judas Gospel" or the "Thomas gospel", - all that tells me is that on any give Tuesday, there was any number of groups expounding their particular 'belief' system, -and membership open enrollment period (ha ha). But these groups and their respective leader would end, -typical, after the death of the "leader", the followers would disband, go home and talk about how great things would have been....yada, yada, yada.
***
As far as a "PERFECT" christian / non-christian is concerned. Here's what christians typically say.:
1. "work of God"... accept the person that the Father has sent. - that's the work of God.
2. "... not sinned throughout all his life"... yeah right... LOL.
3. Muslim faith teaches Jesus was a prophet, yet did not die on his own cross... some other guy did.
4. many religions believe in mono-thiestic a god. Old Testament (may) say the Egyptians, Philistines, etc. did. But we christians give NO credit that someone may believe in "A" god, -cause it's really not the god of the Bible.
5. Believe on the One whom He has sent, and you shall be saved. Simple, and really above anybody's opinion.

"The true Messiah has not come yet or we would have heard something about it?" Does the name Jesus ring a bell, or the Christian faith? The Jews believe they are still waiting for the Messiah, there have been no "close calls" that I am aware of although there were false gods and prophets even during and before Jesus's time on earth.
As far as the Muslim question, Jesus said he was the way, the truth and the life and no one entered the kingdom of heaven expect through him. There is no perfect Christian or perfect man. If we could earn our salvation through good works we would all fail because there could never be a definite decision about what was enough to have done. Also , we would not need Christ if we could "earn" our won salvation, or Mohamed for that matter.

Jewish people are jewish because they follow torah and the jewish religion, (which does not include the belife in christ as messsia) NOT because we don't belive in "jesus". There has been no messsiah as of yet though many were mystaken for it. In terms of a messiah, other individuals were far more qualified than jesus. However none of them did what the real messiah will come to accomplish.

The Israelites (Jews) did believe Jesus was the Messiah, remember them waving the palms and lining up to worship him as he rode the donkey into the city?
What they were expecting from him and what he gave them were different, and so they got angry when he didn't topple the roman government and become their king, thereby releasing them from bondage.
During this time, because he didn't perform what they wanted, they decided he was a fake and thereby allowing the crucifixion that needed to take place according to GODS word.
There have been no other so called "close calls" that I have studied. The Israelites are still waiting for their KING to come and rule over them.

i dont know but the only messiah that was ever been called is Christ and no one else. (Christian religion) and there's no PERFECT christian because human were born a natural sinner it doesnt mean that a genuine christian or any other religion doesnt commit sins. and for me its not true if a person who believes other religion aside from christianity will go to hell, There's only one God the difference is he got a lot of names depending on location and traditions i think. as long as you accept him as your savior and your Lord well it doesnt matter.

Some Jews believe that Jesus existed but he was just one of the prophets but there are still some who believe that he didn't exist at all and thus they are still looking for the coming Messiah. But they are not even looking for him now more than then it seems - most don't even worship or believe anything anymore.

To the Jews, Jesus was only a glorified proffet, and the "Messiah" really hasen't come yet. They consider the Messiah to be the "Second Coming of the Christ".

Jews are still waiting for the messiah. He will not be a god; he will be a great leader who will help us to bring peace on earth. It could be any one of you. I suspect Jesus is waiting for his followers to do their part so he can be proven to be the messiah.
We will know the messiah when "...they beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." Micah 4:3

The one that most believed was the Messiah was Simon bar Kokhba . He led the disastrous revolt against Rome.
Sabbatai Zevi is another that had a large following.
