I've noticed some askers/answerers calling others "dumb", "as$", f***er", and other insults, just because the respondents opinion does not match their own. Why can't be stop being so stubborn and finally accept that everyone is entitled to their opinions and ideas?
Honestly, I got called dumb and an attention seeker today because I said I loved my dogs.

Yes, but my opinions are not directed at hurting or insulting someone else. That is my point.
I am not denying you your right to have your opinion about me. I understand your point. I am just explaining myself.

You want everyone to be able to express their opinions but then complain about someone calling you dumb. I do believe that is an opinion. You may not like it, but that's what it is. Face it, you are not interested in others opinions, you are only interested in others whose opinions agree with yours.

EDIT: I see your point as well, I don't condone those who try to make others feel bad, but your question states, "everyone is entitled to their opinions and ideas". According to your comments, everyone has the right to express opinions whether they are mean and nasty or sugary sweet. If they hurt your feelings, oh well they are just expressing themselves.

Unfortunately in any walk of life you will get people who, for a variety of reasons, will try to put others down with insults and slurs. This ESPECIALLY happens where differences of opinion occur. It's a way of bolstering one's own opinion against someone else's if you can make them look weak. It's an 'ad homein' attack- attack the person to discredit the argument without ever satisfactorily dealing with the argument.

Ignore such people. They are not worth your time.

People are hypercritical or obstinate to hide their own insecurities. Often people will point out weaknesses in others out of fear of being rejected. If they answer honestly, they fear that they may be judged and laughed at. Dont let these people bother you. Find joy in realizing that those that act badly are only showing their true colors.

It is sad, but the world is so depressed that they have to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Not everyone, but a large portion of the population. I think everyone has said something negative about another person in our lifetime, maube it is payback for something you have saif that was hurtful to someone else. Not saying that is the case, but unfortunatley our society is rude. Rude people are everywhere. Just have to ignore them and move on.

You take the good with the bad when opening yourself up to the world. Sometimes , you just have to laugh about it, after all you know who and what you are, The only time an opinion counts is when you care who is giving it.
