The old R-word, and let's not forget the über-offensive Ü-word (oops sorry) and the O-word, P-word and Q-word (you just mind your Ps and Qs now)

So many X-words, it's hard to keep track!

Smiddy is very offended now and has to leave. G-word

The word "Obviously". Especially in math textbooks.

It it is obvious to the readers, they already knows it. So you don't need to say it.

And if it is not obvious to the readers, it sounds like you are calling the readers foolish.

OBVIOUSLY, since you made your statement in the first place, you expect someone to not understand it, so CLEARLY you only make that person feel foolish.

All editors of math books take note!

I find no word to be offencive. They are just sounds with intentions behind them. If one feels the need to go hurt another, that only tells me that the one who wants to go hurt, has internal struggles. One can only have compassion towards them.

Words are just words and they don't offend me. You know what they say; it's not the words; it's the music. It's inappropriate attitudes and actions that offend me.
