What does this mean to you?

haha, i actually said this today.

it just means that you may be wanting to do good, but your actions are evil.
for example, we went into iraq to supposedly bring them democracy, which is good right? but we killed tons of iraquis in the process, not so good. it just means that those actions ARE taken into consideration even if your intentions are good. the means do NOT justify the aims.

What's Awkward About It!...It's True!.....This Is What That Statement Means!......The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions Because Folks Are Trying to Get To Heaven THEIR OWN WAY AND NOT GOD'S WAY! "Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of GOD, And His Righteousness, And All These Things Shall Be Added Unto You"! (Matt. 6: 33) In Other Words..Search Out GOD'S Way Of Doing Things!..........God Put The Plan Together..Not Mankind!.....PS. You Should Attend Bible Studies And Learn God's Ways!...Talk To Your Pastor!

It means our "good intentions" on trying to change another person's mind on an issue is what builds a road to "hell".

Very often, when we call our actions to help others as "good intentions", we have very different intentions within our heart but we are not honest about the REAL intentions.

Strange that you bring that up, a friend of mine mentioned that yesterday and I wondered the same thing...WHAT DOES THAT MEAN????

Should my intensions be bad, so I can go to a better place instead?

Should I not trust my own intensions?

Should I be horrible to people to help my own selfish everlasting existence in this place called heaven where I will be happy and all people with good intensions will suffer?

Then I figured it out..."white lies", we all tell these lies, WHY??? The intensions are good, but are they? Id it not just avoiding the real issue? We tell all these little "lies" or stories, to make our selves look like good people, when in fact it is egotistical really. It is about us, not about how we make the person feel when we lie to them. Maybe it is because our "truth" is to shocking for us to even tell it to another person, especially when it is about them. SO, WHAT DO WE DO??? WE LIE!!! Easy and effective. RIGHT??? NO WAY.

I am not saying you should be negatively blunt with people. I am saying you have to look for the positive in people, because sometimes they hide it REALLY WELL!!!

That is my opinion at this moment in time (I'm am sure it will be different as I learn other things)

Just because you intend to do something good, doesn't mean it'll actually turn out good. Say you have a kid, and you can't bear to punish him when he does something bad. Chances are, as he gets older he'll do even more bad stuff because it never has any consequences. Eventually he may become a robber or a murderer or a rapist, all because you only wanted to treat him good all the time. Another example would be if you have a brother who got laid off from work, so you give him money. He spends it on frivolous stuff, so you give him more money. As long as he can mooch off you, he might never even bother to get another job again, or learn how to manage his money even if he does get a job.

That saying of yours is true!

Most people (mainly non-Christians) believe that simply being a good person will inable them to get to heaven. However, Jesus said that HE IS the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by HIM. People will have good intentions when trying to do good deeds but the Bible teaches us that without Christ, ALL of our actions are evil, no matter how "good" they may appear because the motive is without Christ. " for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)

It means unless you actually DO good works, it has very little merit. For example, you see a man hitting a lady and you think, "Well, I should stop it, but I'm really tired..." You've committed a sin by failing to ACT upon it and help that woman.

It means ACTION is required to obtain Heaven. You cannot just "think good thoughts". You must DO good deeds.

To me, it means that so many people think they can get to heaven just by being "good". However, it's says in the bible that it's not by the good things that we do, but whether we've accepted Jesus into our heart that makes the difference. So many people who are just kind of going through life doing whatever but paying no attention to God are, unfortunately, going to hell.

To me it mean that a lot of time things that we are doing my seem good at the time but can turn in to a problem fast. We may think we are helping someone out when we are really making thing worst for them by not letting them figure the problem out for them selves

I never heard that in Church...I always thought was a Chinese proverb or something like that.

It is a true saying, however, in God's eyes your works are as filthy rags. You can do good and do good, but it's not good to God. You are no good, without the blood of Christ to cover you.
