Im a sold out christian and really love Jesus but Im so curious lately about a drink called a " margarita ". I hear about them so much that my curiosity is really high. What do they taste like? I never drink or frequent bars. But Im here in the south now and beer and stuff are everywhere. I understand that some pple never know when to quit and it destroys them and their families. But for me. Im just curious. I see my brother drink some things that are so pretty in the glass when we are out and I think in mt head, " I want to sip that " it looks so yummy. But he definatly has an alcohol problem. MY curiosity is getting the best of me. Please share your thoughts.

The bible says to not abuse anything. I drink wine, personally, but I am wise in everything that I do. I do not drink wine around those who oppose it, I don't drink it around my youth group, because they are too young in mind to understand it. I like the taste, but do not drink to get drunk. I think it's okay, but I don't go to bars. It's the wrong crowd. At home is fine, at a nice dinner, okay, but I personally don't make a habit out of it.

Just b/c you are curious does not mean you will become an alcoholic for taking a sip of something alcholic. Yes, there are those poor souls who do not know when to quit. My husband's best friend is one of them, and I feel so sorry for him.

If you are out with your brother having dinner and he orders a drink, take that sip. You might like it. It even says in the Bible "Take a little wine for your stomach's sake." Jesus' first miracle was making wine at a party out of water. The Bible does frown upon overindulging, but one drink certainly is not going overboard.

As for the margarita? My all-time fave drink. They taste awesome, especially with the salt they put on the rim of the glass. You might find the strawberry margarita enjoyable, too! Hope this was helpfull!!

I don't recall the bible ever saying you can't drink alcohol. After all, Jesus did the wine thing for the wedding in Caanan.

Just drink responsibly. Try the virgin margarita or ask the bartender to go light on the booze. I prefer the fruit ones over the traditional flavored margarita, but that's just me.

My mom is as Christian as they come and she has a wine cooler or a margarita every now and again.

Very legitimate question bambi.

The bible teaches us that alcohol itself is not a sin. Overindulgence is. Christians are allowed to drink alcoholic beverages but never to get drunk. After all Jesus changed water into wine at the wedding at Cana. Paul told Timothy to drink wine to ease his stomach ailments. (1 Timothy 5:23) Be very careful though, alcohol has a tendency to lure people doing things that they normally wouldn't do. I myself was a alcoholic and almost died because of it if it weren't for the Lord. I haven't drank in four years and I'm at the best I have ever been. Do not get caught up in the bar scene, that's just asking for trouble. If you really want to try a margarita go ahead and taste one., BUT remember how destructive it can be if used to get drunk. Pray too, this may also be an attack by Satan do lure you away from God. BE VERY CAREFUL!

I'm not sure that as a Christian you are not allowed (or whatnot) to have an occasional drink. You do need to know that 1 or 2 drinks is sufficent for a good time. To drink anymore would be going overboard, and could make you sick. But I guess that is a different story.

The margarita comes in many different flavors, but if you have not tried any of the liquor that is in them, I'm not sure I can completely describe the taste. They are very good, somewhat fruity but they have a bite becuase of the liquor that is in them. You could try a non-alcholic margarita, but it would not be exactly the same.

Non-Alcoholic Margarita Punch
"Non-alcoholic lemon-lime carbonated way to beat the heat!" Original recipe yield: 24 servings.

INGREDIENTS:

1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
1 cup confectioners' sugar
4 egg whites
6 cups crushed ice
1 liter carbonated water
1 lime, sliced
coarse salt

DIRECTIONS:
In a 4 quart container, combine lemonade concentrate, limeade concentrate, powdered sugar, egg whites, and crushed ice; mix well. Cover and freeze at least 30 minutes before serving.
Spoon 2 cups slush mixture into blender. Add 1 cup of carbonated water. Blend until frothy. To serve rub rim of glass with lime slice, dip in salt, and fill glass. garnish with lime slices.

Strawberry Margarita

2 oz Non-Alcoholic Strawberry Schnapps
1/2 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
1/2 Cup Ice.
Blend until smooth, serve in Margarita glass rimmed with sugar. Garnish with strawberry.

Try searching non-alcoholic drinks in any search engine, there are a tone that comes up.

Please remember that Jesus first miracle was to turn water into wine. I think that the most important thing about being a Christian is having self-control and not putting things like alcohol, sex, etc. before God. But that doesn't mean that you can't have a sip or taste the Margarita, which by the way is very good.

Many places would make you a 'virgin' margarita, with no alcohol. It would taste very similar to the real thing, but it would also look EXACTLY like the real thing; so what if someone saw you? :D

Anyway, as someone who does not have a problem with alcohol, I'd say that you're not missing much. I think margartias are waay overrated! My favorite drinks don't look that fascinating; and since I don't want to lead you down the path to the Dark Side, I won't mention any names! :)

A margarita is a drink made with tequila, triple sec (orange flavor liquor), and sometimes sprite is added for a fizz. A lot of people also like to put salt around the rim for more taste. One drink of alchohol is not going to make you drunk or an achoholic. Give it a try. It's a good summer drink. I'm from Nashville by way and everybody drinks them here.

There's nothing wrong in itself with drinking, if you are 21! It's all about moderation. If alcoholism runs in your family you may want to be cautious. Have a margarita! They're yummy!

So lets put the word porn in for alcohol. I am curious lately about porn call whatever. You see it sounds really funny a "christain" saying they are curious about something they know is wrong. Control of porn doesn't make it any less wrong it works the same was with alcohol read this book "The Christian and Alcohol"
the weakness are the reason people look at christian in such a bad light. We need to be a light and example not going with the crowd.
