One of my ex's got mad at me when he found out I was sleeping with one of his buddies at his fraternity. He pushed me down into a chair, and then slapped me when I tried to explain myself. Then he got this look and broke down and cried and was apologizing continuously to me. I ran out of there and I never returned his calls. Should I have forgiven him, and believed it was a heat of the moment thing? Or do you think he would have abused me more later.

There is some confusion as to what I meant. He was my boyfriend at the time of the incident, but is now my ex. Sorry.

I believe you did the right thing as far as leaving him. Now for sleeping with his friend there is no excuse, unless it was to save one of your life. But he was wrong to push and slap you for it he could have simply left you.

NO WAY!!!!! Abusive people will continue to be abusive. How many times will the "heat of the moment" things turn out the same way? Even after extensive therapy, if circumstances are correct, he could, and probably would, act the same way. It's a pattern for abusive people to act out the abuse, then break down and act remorseful and very loving, but the next time a similar situation occurs, he will strike again. Consider yourself lucky to get away from that.

YOU DID THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT THING BY GETTING THE HELL OUT OF THERE AND NOT LOOKING BACK. ONCE AN ABUSER ALWAYS AN ABUSER.
THERE IS NEVER A GOOD REASON FOR A MAN TO HIT A WOMAN LIKE THAT.
DON'T BE ALONE WITH THE LOSER AGAIN OR YOU CAN EXPECT THE SAME TREATMENT, MAYBE WORSE.

IS HE YOUR EX OR NOT???

First you said Boyfriend, then you said ex, What is it? Hopefully he was, and still is your ex.

You need to report him to the campus police for assault! You must do it now. He will hurt or possibly kill the next girl. You can forgive him, and really you should, but forgiveness doesn't mean start sleeping with him again. Next, you need to quit sleeping around, PERIOD. College boys are full of diseases, and fraternities are notorious for date rape, and sexual assault. Not to mention battery. Grow up and get your education and stop wh*reing around.

It is not just a matter of forgivness, it is a matter of communitation and understanding the situtation. Hitting a female is always wrong, but you and your boyfriend, have to decide what you both want. Treat each other as you would want to be treated. honesty, compassion, and understanding is a good solution. violence in a a relationship never solves anything.Put yourself in each others feelings, and and go from there.

You should have called the police. Not only for you but for the next woman that he will do that to. The jerk should be in jail where he can try being a tough guy amongst other men.

Leave him in the dust and don't look back. He probably does feel bad about it. He will promise never to do it again OVER and OVER again.
I didn't see the light until I was fighting for my life, the third time he put me in the hospital.

You gave him a reason to beat you. And if he has never done it before he wouldnt do it again. But you kinda brought it on yourself, but i am not saying that he is right for hitting you.
