I would say that's a Homer quote from the Simpsons you overheard, while sleeping with the TV on LOL It probably got stuck in your head.

Yes!! where are you from? I only thought we said that here in WV. We say it all the time 1. because of the fat and 2. because we usually don't want to eat when we drink and if someone say "you need to eat" we say "eh, there's a pork chop in every beer". gosh that is so intresting. I thought it was just us.

I've heard there's a sandwich in every beer, but never a pork chop. It's nice to think of beer as nice and hearty...

I haven't heard it before, but it probably comes from the amount of calories in beer.
Somewhere between 100-200 calories per 12 ounces. Beer is not a high protein food though, and the caloric intake is mostly from the sugars/alcohol.

They are talking about how fattening beer is. It is like eating pork chops because you will get a beer belly.

I've never heard that one but it sounds like it refers to how much fat beer can put on you. Here's one for you to tell....beer is the airplane drink....you know why?...drink 1 and P-38

It refers to the amount of fat in the beer. Where it came from I do not have the slightest idea.
