It has to be an extreme situation for you to ask that someone hurry it along in the bathroom. I wouldn't yell, I would ask nicely, and yes, I have personally done that. I was flying with my 6 month old and the first flight was late landing so I had about 20 minutes to get to the next gate to make the next flight. I needed to go and my daughter needed a clean diaper. I knew I could change her on my lap on the plane if I had to, but there was no way I would be able to use the airplane restroom with her on my lap. So I haul *** to the only bathroom near the gate. I had my daughter in her stroller and I was headed for the handicapped stall, the only one that would fit the stroller. This woman butts in front of me and took the stall, just so she could take her luggage in with her. After a couple of minutes, more than enough time, I asked her to please hurry, the stroller won't fit anywhere else and I need get to my flight that leaves in 10 minutes. She came out, walked over to the sink, left her luggage in the stall! I walked over grabbed her luggage and threw it on the bathroom floor, and said, "Here you forgot this!" I was in and out in less than 3 minutes while that woman was still standing staring at me in horror! It was hilarious!!!! But that's what you get when you cross a desperate mom!

I don't think that its ever polite to yell at someone.
If they were in their doing something legitimate, then there's nothing they can really do about being in there a while.
If their just lounging in the tub or are taking a really long shower and they know that you are in a rush to leave the house or that you really need to go. Then, I would forgo politeness and yell. Since they are obviously trying to aggravate you on purpose.

No. While it is possible that someone is being inconsiderate and spending more time in a restroom than is necessary, it is much more likely that there is a physical, necessary reason for a lengthy stay. Your yelling will not make it any easier or faster for someone to do what they need to do. And if you yell, you are now the inconsiderate one. Let it pass - just like they are trying to do.

No, it's not polite. Some people just need more time.
However, if that person is in the stall talking on a cell phone, then you can yell. I hear women talking all the time so I flush the toilet to let their caller know where they are. LOL! I'm so mean.

It's never polite to yell at anyone for ANY reason. How do you know they aren't having some "problems" in the bathroom and your yelling is making things worse! Shame on you!!!

Well all people go at different rates. My son has to completely disrobe, then sing a while and read, whatever catches his fancy at the moment. But he gets the job done. Thank goodness that we have 2 bathrooms...LOL!
But I would take into consideration that we all need varying amounts of time to do whatever business that we have in the bathroom. And time goes so slowly when you are on the outside of the bathroom door!

No, it's not polite. Be patient, they may be having a problem in there. If you wanna be polite and kinda hint that it's taking too long, ask "are you ok?" if a really long time passes, but best is to just leave people alone.

No, it's not polite to yell at someone. Maybe they have hemorrhoids and after a poop and very, very gentle wipe they have to apply some cream to their bung hole. You really should consider other peoples situations as being often beyond your imagination as to why their taking so long. Often it's necessary, who wants to hang out alone in the bathroom beyond the necessary time it takes them to do THEIR BUSINESS?

You ask the question, so you already know the answer. Would you enjoy people screaming at you to leave, while your lovely beautiful girlfriend/wife is chatting with you and you are caressing her smooth hands??
Those people shouting are agressing your intimate moment - how dare they?!?
But, yes, you are right, when you look for a free table and so many people are sitting without eating, you'd love to shout at them ;-))
