Have they done MRI on spine? I am assuming Xray was on spine (entire length)? You could have disk problems that don't show up on xrays yet. Have pinched nerves been ruled out?

How is your posture, both awake and asleep? Practice a good posture during waking hours, and try to make sure spine is alligned well at night also. Keep a diary of the pain, when it occurs, where, what seems to make it worse or better. Do you have pain in any other places? Keep records of it all. Then keep on your doctor until you find the cause. Don't give up.

When one side of our body hurts, we tend to walk differently to compensate, creating more pain. You might ask your doctor about using a cane to balance out your walking while the problem is being looked into. Also ask about physical therapy.

Just FYI, Calcium, magnesium and potassium help prevent cramps.
