So my boyfriends birthday is on July 3rd. I wanted to make a video tape of his friends and family wishing him a happy birthday. The only thing is, there is restrictions against sending tapes or cassettes over there, i'm guessing because of the heat. Do any of you know a way to get it to him? let me know how you do it too. Thanks!

If you can burn it to disk, you can e-mail it to his .mil account, and he will be able to download it at his convenience. When he is in garrison, he should be able to have access to a computer when he comes off duty. You can set up a webcam and record to disk, or some video cameras can connect to your PC via USB cable. That would allow you to record with the video camera and then transfer the video to a video file on your computer. You could either e-mail the video file or contents of a DVD. You could also mail a CD via snail mail, but I am not sure if it would arrive before his birthday.

Best of luck!

Have the VHS transferred to a CD, DVD or even an MPEG file that you could put on a USB travel drive. This then could be up loaded to almost any computer that he'd have access to.

There are some file hosts that will host for free. If he can access them, you can upload to the host and let him download from there.

One example is:
