I'm pretty sure that would be in direct proportion to the overall size of the butt. Also, it's important to take in the overall geometry, as a rounder butt will appear to have a shorter crack than a flatter butt, when in fact the crack would be the same if measured along the circumference. Generally speaking, however, I'll stick with overall butt size.

well, apparently you have given this a lot of thought and observation. I believe you should apply for a National Institutes of Health grant and study this phenomenon further. Photograph butt-cracks and interview assholes for research!
