Although it does depend upon your daily hourly usage as well as how you use the monitor. New plasma monitors should last12 to 55 years

Many new plasma manufacturers boast a life span of 60,000 hours to half life. This is a longer life than a tube based television. The specification is somewhat suspect since the process of determining longevity of the product is based on deductive mathematical calculation of phosphor dissipation, and does not take into account the electronic components and the myriad of problems that can occur. Panasonic was the first to claim the 60,000 hour life span, up from a previous 30,000 just a year prior.

Within months after Panasonic announced this new life span, other manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon announcing that their plasma television is now rated to 60,000.

You're lucky it works at all at that elevation. Current plasma panels can only be estimated to last 20K, 40K, 60K, etc. Depends on content, ie. how bright and stuff like that, viewing habits. Plasma panels are very similar to CRT displays; they start aging from day 1. To reduce the aging, just like with CRT displays, reduce contrast and brightness.

Anywhere between 15,000-60,000 hours for their half-life.

Their brightness will fade over time, similar to tube tv's.

If you want to prolong the life of the tv and improve your picture, look at getting a power conditioner. Monster makes some nice ones that will help keep your power fluctuations down.
