I know that youre supposed to do a big variety of exercises per muscle group to work every muscle, but is working the main muscles enough to look big?

For example, are push-ups, and curls enough for biceps?

The main focus is to do lower reps and higher weight. Keep increasing the poundage slowly. Also, if you are looking for big arms, do kickbacks, too. And make sure you take days off. Do one muscle group one day, another the next. It really will help you improve your size by giving each a day of rest every other.

You should read the book "The Power of Ten" - it's all about getting a great body doing few reps (high weight) and a shorter work out. It talks about how many body builders and people training over work their muscles and explains how the most important time is the time when you rest - which is when the muscle repair is going on (and that is what creates the muscle). It is an excellent, well-researched book, and if you really care about your health and want to have a great body - it's worth getting. The author is Adam Zickerman.

Certain muscle groups can be worked out more then once a week. Forearms, calves, abs, and shoulders.
To get big and strong you have to work the fast twich and slow twich fibers.
You also have to each muscle of a group. The clue is in the name. The biceps are made of two muscles, tris three, quads 4 and so on.
