I chose St. Dymphna because she is the patron saint of those who are suffering for nervous and mental afflictions and of Psychologists. I'm currently finishing up my undergraduate degree in Psychology and plan to get my PhD in Psychology and treat those with nervous and mental afflictions so it just seemed to fit.

I am actually a moderate Anglican. But I have chosen Saint Isidore of Seville. St. Isidore is the patron saint of technicians, but is also the adopted patron saint of computer guys. I have a pendant with his likeness that I never remove.

my confirmation St. is Joseph. It was between him and St. Justin Martyr (who I still think is really really great). I chose Joseph because I felt a calling to him and also because I want my life to be devoted to quiet support of the Church and education of the faithful, as Joseph quietly supported Mary and raised Christ in quiet obscurity. Also I found out after I converted (only one in my family) that my great-grandfather was catholic and he converted to protestantism to marry my great-grandmother. His name was Joseph. So I see that as God answering some long forgotten prayers of Joseph's relatives (or even the longing of his own heart to return home) and restoring the bloodline to the faith.
