The cyst developed from a pimple and its now itching. The same are found on my shoulder blades. They look pale and feel soft to the touch.

Didn't your doctor discuss this with you? There are three main treatment options for a ganglion cyst:
1. do nothing (if the cyst is not painful or disfiguring)
2. aspiration (drain the cyst with a needle)
3. surgical removal (treatment of choice if cyst is disfiguring).

You really need to discuss your options with your doctor/surgeon to find out the best course of action for you to follow.

I agree with the RN, ilse72. She's provided you with wonderful answers.

Currently, I have a moderate-sized ganglion cyst on my left wrist. I have had them in the past on both wrists, though not at the same time. I have never had the aspiration. If the pain was tolerable, I just let time take its course. In two instances, I tried the method where it's smashed! It hurt pretty bad. The doctor did it once for me, and then I did the second one myself. I basically draped my wrist over a desk, with a cushiony towel underneath, and then hit it once with a heavy book.

I don't recommend this method for your jaw or shoulderblades. Be on the safe side: Have them aspirated. This should especially be the method you take, since the doctor says it can be disfiguring. Like Larry the Cable Guy says, "Get 'er done!"

I had one of those on my left wrist for about a week. I was told I might need to get it drained, but it ended up going away on it's own.

Most cysts can be drained, or so I've read. Why didn't you ask your doctor about treatment? It would be a good idea to go back and do so.
