Ugggh, homework? It's summer soltice! Give us a break!
I take issue with this article's assumptions, which are very general. First the author makes the statement that Christianity's two prime articles of faith are "revelation and Crucifixion." There are major divisions amongst Christianity itself on the person of Jesus Christ, the saving nature of his life, death, resurrection, teachings. And the question of whether or not he is the definitive and only saviour for all people of all times, is not universally agreed on by all Christians.
The role of the Crucifixion is also not understood uniformly across the board by all Christians. The question has long been asked and debated, "how is Jesus' death and crucifixion redemptive?" Is it? Redemption, atonement, sacrifice, are all traditional understandings, but theology has always had several understandings of and interpretations of soteriology, and Christology.
Interestingly enough the earliest Christian art showed nothing of the crucifixion...
But I'm off the hook since your author inists that "no man" this and "no man" that...

C'mon Jim, the site also says that, "No man can be found in any Christian country who has the established reputation of being a man of science, or who has made any proficiency in the whole curriculum of the sciences, whose creed, when examined by an orthodox committee, would not be pronounced unsound."
lol
Seriously folks, it's amazing to me how the yh "intelligent thinkers" users can grasp on to anything posted on a website and defend it. I will admit, I've never even heard of any of the other guys listed. I do know about Jesus. His gospel has lasted and been spread throughout the world for two thousand years. What a miracle that the Bible still exists, heh?

Good, someone else is thinking here too. Thumbs up for posting questions that provoke real contemplation. People think they have it all figured out...like they could possibly begin to comprehend the nature of the Divine (God) and his/her intentions & plan.
The Catholic/Christian church have done a pretty good job of eradicating the opposition in favor of their "story", but your question shows that they haven't been completely successful. People are noticing the facts as revealed by ancient civilizations, history and religious practices. Many will not agree with you, but at least you got them thinking. We need to constantly question everything & understand that we could not possibly conceive of "God's" true intentions. We, as humans, should realize that we only know/are aware of that that is necessary for this lifetime/this earthly incarnation. We shouldn't insult God by claiming we know everything.
Look at the history of the Catholic church. They stole all their ideas (or most) from ancient pagan religious practices that were centuries old.
PS- "Dirty White Guy" is absolutley right!
PPS- just read the other responses. WOW! We aren't alone...there are other intelligent thinkers out there!!!

Read a little, interesting.
RIGHT NOW, JESUS is the only way to get your Spiritman RECREATED. People in the Old Testament couldn't get Born-Again till JESUS died on the CROSS. But, they were SAVED (old contract for SALVATION) anyway, they just couldn't go to the third HEAVEN till they got RECREATED.
In the GENERATION's that lived on this EARTH befor JESUS, how do we know that they didn't blow the Free-Will thing and JESUS had to SAVE them TOO!!!!!!
Just wonder how many time's GOD had to provide SALVATION to the CREATURE's (us and maybe them) because they couldn't handle FREE-WILL-----and did they write it down(their BIBLE's) and we found some of them later(older then 6000 year's) ????????? Something to think about.

Those insisting Jesus is the only way are denying known history. Many religions spoke of the 'christ consciousness', which is not a man. It's a evolution of the mind to the point of unconditionally loving, accepting and thinking.

Jesus Christ is the mediator between man and God. meaning without Jesus we cannot be forgiven for our sins and being not forgiven and not accepting him as our savior and Lord then we cannot go to heaven. Jesus alone is the only begotten son sent by GOd and no one else.

Jesus is the ONLY one who gives you the gift of eternal life and glory with Him and God-FREE!
You don't have to DO anything. Doesn't cost you a penny.
Just believe in Jeus and it's yours!
Ask any Christian about persecution for believing in Him. That's proof enough!
