i thought new engines should sound ver quiet, but my new car's enginse sounds loud, iv heard some new toyotas are loder is this true, or cuold something be wrong?

Ask the dealer. They will want to hear about it. It ahould be under warranty.

If the ping is coming from the top of the motor it could be the valves knocking. A lower ping down inside the motor could be from the pistons. Does it ping consistently? ie: does it increase/decrease with accelleration? A car with only 3k miles shouldn't have that noticable of a ping. Toyotas are good quality products and I havent heard of many newer models of corolla having problems.
