It would be an unlimited time as long as the vapor from the gasoline did not escape the container. If it was allowed to escape, the gasoline would evaporate. If it was completely sealed, the gasoline would achieve equilibrium, (The vapor leaving would equil the gasoline condensing back to liquid.

A plastic container is made to relex heat and insulate the gasoline. Although this is the case I would try to shade the gas becuz the vapors could ignite with any increase in the temp.. for example a magnifying glass or a spark from a piece of metal

I wouldn't trust it after 4 months unless it had a stabilizer added to it.
