pulled muscle most likely. if he tore his acl he would have been limping during the walk/ uphill jog. If he pulled his muscle it wouldnt really have bothered him as much until the inflamation set in, and thats why it took him awhile to not bare weight and then to limp. He needs to be rested this weekend, leash walks to go potty then right back inside, no running no jumping. Monday you need to go to the vet and have them take a look, usually they dispence a NSAID, nonsteroidal anti-inflamitory drug to help with the pain and inflamation. Whatever you do DON'T give him human medication, drugs like tylenol and Ibuprofin kill dogs even if you give them a tiny amount. It attacks there liver and kidneys and will shut them down. The best thing is rest and if you really want to be proactive you can ice pack his knee if he lets you, dont push it though if he doesnt want you to. Up to 3 times a day for 5 minutes each is best. Good luck

Visit the VET.This is something alive and breathing that we are talking about here.Leave it to the professional.Even if you get detailed procedure of how to fix the broken hip of the chick from yahoo!answer, your incompetence and lack of experience might do more damage.

you can try to splint the area - depending on the size of the chick - use a popscicle stick -the break still may not heal perfectly - a break should not prevent healthy...it will just slow the chick down some

Very carefully because the only time you should break chicken bones is at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Take some flour, salt, pepper and veggie oil. pre-heat the oil to 350 degrees, cover the chicken with the flour mix then place into the frying pan until golden brown.

i suggest take it to the vet. maybe they can fix him. at my house, we had a pigeon that lived for 8 years with us and one of his foot was twisted back to the rear of his wing. i felt bad but my mom really cared for him. he wasn't in pain in that position but we had the patience to really care for him. we feed him by holding him in our hands and had him in a cardboard box since we couldn't put him in a cage. he couldn't fly. we even bathed him a plastic basenet ( i don't think i spelled that right). if you have the patience to care for him this way like a newborn baby, then keep him like that. hopefully the vet will help. consider alternatives.

it will probably heal on its own unless you really want to spend that much on a vet. it is young and heals fast.
