Zinc cream is the best. Definitely treat it as SOON as you notice it...baby's bottom starts to get red and baby may jump a bit if you touch the area. another great thing to do as often as you can, is let your little one have "free time". Just after you've changed your baby...let the angel lay/sit on a couple of towels with no diaper on. The more air that gets to the area, the better. Try to keep the baby's bottom as dry as possible at ALL times. Change the baby a bit more often. You don't want a little diaper rash to turn bacterial. NO ONE will be happy then.

good luck!

Balmex, Aquaphor, Butt Paste, etc. - they all work the same.

If the rash doesn't clear up in the first day or two, or your baby has a fever with the rash, make sure you take your baby to the doctor to rule out anything else. Also, make sure that baby's diaper is getting changed every few hours. Letting him/her sit in a wet/poopy diaper will just make the rash worse.

Good luck

If it really is a diaper rash, then plain over the counter diaper ointment should do the trick. However; if there is a yeast infection on top of the diaper rash- you'll need to go to the doctor for a perscription.
