I don't think these people could be as tough as US soldiers.

The French Foreign Legion is an arm of the french army it is made up entirely of foreigners except for the regular french army officers in command. 1 out of every 10 new recruits that make it through training will be killed in action in their first tour of duty. They are best known for their attempted overthrow of the french government, and the battle of dien ben phu(spelling) when in french indio china. Their training regiment rivals that of the SF programs that we have here in America, desert training, and jungle training are conducted in hot zones. The french send these guys in first mainly because they are not french citizens, you can compare them to the SAS, SBS, and SF here in America. You just dont hear a lot about them but they are currently involved in operations in Chad, as well as in south america. I wouldnt worry about them they are mostly sent out on suicide missions, because the french dont care about them.

The Foreign Legion is a unit of the French Army made up of citizens from all over the world. The French use them much like we us our Marines. I don't think the U.S. Military would have much to worry about with them, after all France is not know for their military might. As far as being as tough as US soldiers, I think that depends on the man.

It is part of the French military, consisting of men from all over the world and it does not worry the US Military and they are not as tough as the Us soldiers.

They had been considered fairly "tough" at one time. They are a unit of the French army made up entirely of non French citizens...more or less mercenaries. They historically have been a haven for a variety of men of questionable background(convicted felons, people on the run) for many years. Nothing for us to worry about. Are they in the news for some reason?

The Foreign Legion has never won a battle in it's entire existence! In fact, they celebrate the battles they've LOST!
I don't think that the US military has much to worry about!

Theirs not wrong with the French, they've made huge contributions to the World Wars. Lets not forget, in the first world war over 3 million frenchmen died, and many more were wounded. The French army in the second world war were excellent, but the German blitzkrieg was unstoppable. Britain was onyl saved due to us being an island, so lets not slag the guys off. Im personally proud to have the French as allies

They are mainly thugs that wear white hats, and fight for the french.
