I've had a few near death experiences. I've almost died of pneumonia once and I was also in a really bad car accident with some friends. I believe in an afterlife and I did before both of these incidents. I don't know if the incidents really changed me but it made me thankful for the time I have here on earth!

I nearly died when a car hit me from behind in the sixth grade. At the time I was a devout catholic and very much wanted to be a priest.
As to the experience... I saw nothing, save my own mortality and fragility. Yes, you could say it changed me, but I'd prefer to say "enlightened". Ever since Ive never wanted to serve and submit to anything but myself.
There are three types of people in the world: Those who follow, Those who lead, and Those that do neither. Forget the FLOCK, forget the SHEPHERD. They're useless in the end.
