I think its kind of rude for your co workers to diss your baby name like that. I personally like it. Its different and it represents your heritage. It has a lot of character, and Im sure your daughter will love it because of its uniquness. I say go for it

How about this- the girl will be born in America so why not give her an American name. The worst thing you can do to a child is give her an unusual name because she's the one who has to live with it for the rest of her life and she has no say in the matter! Sure she could go by a nick-name but then she'll have to explain why she doesn't use her real name every time she applies for a job or a loan. And then she'll have to say "Luci-with-an-i" every time she gives her first name. Have some compassion for your child's future. Sure, Lucette is a pretty name, but think of the implications of having to live with it for your whole life.

Savanah Lucette. As much as you want your sons to be involved, they should not have creative license in picking your baby's first name unless you like the name they're picking. A good compromise would be to let them "have" the middle name rights. And they can still call her Lucette if they want. Most siblings have their own nicknames for each other anyway. My 2 year old calls her older siblings: Ma-Matt, Sissy and Bubba even though I think they have beautiful names: Matthew, Emily and Ryan.

How about a compromise...Savanah Lucette works, and you could give her whatever nicknames you all wanted. You could call her Savannah, or Luci, or whatever, and her brothers could call her what they wanted. Many people have more than one nickname, and many also don't necessarily go by the name on their birth certificate. I'm sure as she grows, your child will decide which name to go by. Maybe her brothers will be so totally smitten with her when she's born that they won't really care so much what you call her...and then you won't have to worry...

Lucette is actually a nice name! Luci is okay BUT if you only call her Lucette and correct people when they call her Luci, I'm sure Lucette will "stick"! And besides........... who really cares what people at WORK say????????????? They are co-workers NOT family!
Lucette is nice.
P.S............ I once knew a really nice girl named "Lizette". Similar and not common.

Do what you want, if you like Lucette then name her that. My sons name is Dakota Octavius, and boy did i have comments about his name. but that is what me and my husband decided so we stuck to it no matter what anyone said. now the people who hated it love it. they say it fits him. so if you think it fits her then by all means name her Lucette.
try Lucette Mishelle. or Lucette Brielle or any middle name you like. good luck

I love both names, but I prefer Lucette. Very uncommon...but in a good way. It wouldn't make your baby sound like she should have a job at Hooters. LOL Savanah is beautiful, too, but I'd add another "n" to it...Savannah.
Really, who is more important to you...your coworkers or your two sons? My husband and I SPECIFICALLY didn't tell anyone what we were naming our children before they were born for this very reason. "Oooh, I don't like thaaaaat name. Why are you going to name him THAT?" We didn't even tell people we had it narrowed down to ________ and ________. We just didn't want to hear it. They were our babies, we're their parents, and we're going to name them what WE want!
