When the child can climb out of the crib. This usually occures around the age of two, but all children are different. Ask your pediatrician- they are more familiar with your child than anyone on here could be.

usually a child moves from a crib to a bed (either toddler bed, regular bed with roll of guards, or a mattress on the floor) somewhere between ages 2 and 3. Some people move their children sooner if they are crawling and climbing out of the crib, some people wait until a little closer to 3 if they have an extra active child who needs the confinded space. Take into consideration your child's personality and temperment, what is going on in your life/their life/family life at the time, and you will be able to pick when it is best for your child. Good luck!

Whenever the toddler gets really close when trying to climb out of the crib.... thats the time for the toddler ber, just get one that has the little rails on both sides so the toddler can not roll off at night.

When the child can crawl out of the baby crib. For safety reasons especially. But then into a toddler bed with mesh siderails, sold in most stores where you buy the toddler bed.

For sure when the toddler starts climbing out of the crib (you don't want them to get hurt). Otherwise, around age 2

When they can climb out of the crib. Toddler beds are a waste of $$ though. Just get a regular mattress and put it on the floor.
I know kids that have climbed out at 10 months and some as late as 2. My kids climbed out at about 18 months.

My daughter we switched over to a twin bed and bought a guard rail at the age of two since she was jumping over the rail to her crib it was unsafe to keep her in it...my son we didn't switch till he was almost three though...and we put him in a toddler bed and it went very smoothly! I guess it just depends on the child, but i think the average is either 2 or 3 yrs. old

I have 4 daughters and each were a bit different.. my 1st was 2 in a toddler bed w/o rails, my twins were 15 months and in twin beds w/ rails, and my youngest was in a toddler bed w/o rails at 18 mos.. I really think that it is up to the child and Mom.. use your best judgment.. your the parent you'll know.. good luck.
