Sciatica is caused by irritation of your sciatic nerve, which originates from your lumbar spine. The key is finding where they the irritation is occuring. It can occur in your low back, in your buttocks, or even in the thigh area. If you know the reason you are having the pain that can help you decide what to do for it. I would ice your low back, and do some streches for your low back and your hips. If this doesn't clear up with in three days I would see a chiropractor.

Maybe but doesn.t get at the cause. I am 67 and have had low back problems since I have been 16, I have tried just about everything.. Recently I discovered something that really seems to work well. It's a little difficult to do but the result is similar to what a chiropractor does for you. Lay on your left side at the very left most edge of the bed. Your left leg should be stretched out as straight as it will go. Now put your right leg straight up reaching for the ceiling and slowly lower it to the floor so that your outstretched right leg is perpendicular to the rest of your body which should be in a straight line with the edge of the bed.. The idea here is to stretch your low back muscles. Once your practice this for a while you will want to try to position your shoulder more flat with the bed which puts more of a twist on your entire spine. Go slow at first and don't do anything fast or jerky. Of course you can do the other side too.

I have a pinched nerve and sciatica in my lower back. The only thing that helps me is wearing light weight shoes, seeing my Chiropractor, and a roll-on gel to apply that is called Biofreeze. You can get it from a chiro, physical therapist, etc. or call the number that is on their website. If you tell them you can't find it anywhere locally they will ship it to you. Hope this helps!

For 250 dollars (once in a lifetime) you may get a one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax, available in California and Europe.

How's about that? Hopefully you are able to invest the amount and the travelling, it's really worth it. The chance of definitely getting rid of the symptoms is near 100%.
