Well I think you should invite her to the party because this will be a good way for you to observe her, as well as allow her to get to know you. If she will know others there, then I would steer away from telling her to bring a friend because she may misconstrue "friend" for "date". However, if she's not from your "crowd" and probably won't know anyone else there, she may feel uncomfortable just coming alone and if you aren't asking her there AS your date, you'll be busy entertaining others. You could say "hey I'm having a party, why don't you come and feel free to bring along one or two of your girlfriends". That way she could bring someone and you are sending the message that you don't want that someone to be a man; hence you are interested in her.

Sounds confusing but it'll probably work.

Personally, I'd ask her regardless of the party. Instead of wondering what can or could have happened, just ask and at least you know if it was even possible. You even get yes sometimes! If you ask her before and she says no, still invite her to the party. Just because she didn't want to date you, doesn't mean you should remove her as a friend. If you ask her to the party and she asks if she can bring a friend (male) then you probably know you'd get a no if you ask her out since it is probably the boyfriend.

Invite her to the party and be very casual about it. Tell her to feel free to bring a friend or some friends along. Then at the party, make it a point to talk to her and break the ice a bit. Once you do that, it should be very easy to ask her out. Don't be afraid of her saying no. If she does, you're free to move on and pursue someone else who will say yes.

Invite her, then, while she is having a good time at the party, ask her out. Tell her to bring a friend so that she is comfortable and more likely to say yes.

You should invite her to the party first. Then you will see her in a different light you may not like her after the party and if you do then you have the chance to ask her out. If you do ask her out first then she might not act like herself at the party...

Invite her to the party and tell her to bring her friends. Get her and her friends drunk and have sex all night long. Could be your chance for a threesome???
