Yes, both Christians and Muslims have used the sword to spread their religion. I'm a Hindu from India and we have been constantly attacked by Muslims and Christians wo have tried to destroy our religion, temples etc. but the difference between Christians and Muslims TODAY is that most Christians have renounced religious intolerance but Muslims(mainly in the middle east) have not. It is not the "actions of a few". Most Muslims in Afghanistan and other parts of the middle east are intolerant towards other religions. A few months ago an Afghan converted to Christianity and he was sentenced to death for doing that. Most of the Afghans supported the decision. The man was released due to international pressure.

As a Muslim, allow me to present my point of view... I moved to the United States when I was 4 yrs old and am now in my early twenties... Living in a metropolitan area, I came across a guy on Monday who said my English was perfect.. and I replied by telling him that I've been here since I was 4. In a very know-it-all statement, he said, "So I'm sure you dont like it here and want to go back." I told him NO WAY.. This is my home... This is my country...

Muslims are not bad, why should the entire Muslim community have to suffer because of a few bad seeds... Islam does not condone violence. As for the term jihad, a jihad is an inner struggle between the individual and Satan's whisperings, as well as an outer struggle, in order to protect oneself, one's family, etc....

The majority of Muslims are uneducated in this world. Without education they do not understand right from wrong and are being fed nonsense by extremists... This is where the Muslim world has failed... Education is the key to peace and prosperity. Prior to Sept. 11th the Muslim world was exploited and even afterwards, the war on terror, appears to be a war on Muslims, despite the President's comments.

I do not in anyway whatsoever tolerate violence and neither do the majority of Muslims. You need to understand that the Quran was revealed at a certain time and each Surah (verse) applies to an event in time (in the past). Phrases that tolerate violence should not be taken out of context. You need to see when the verse was revealed and why.

I will say that the root cause of Sept. 11th has not been addressed, and that this country will not be safe until this is done (Kosovo, Palestine, Kashmir....). I am not here to debate what is going on in those territories, but I will say that some Muslims have lashed out in horrific ways, in order to be heard. Instead, we are now hated by all.

Prior to the increased number of suicide bombing attacks, Palestinians were still being massacred and shot to death, homes were destroyed by tanks. Imagine living in refugee camps for generations because your home has been taken away. What is the best way to fight back if your imports and exports are controlled by Israel. The only weapons they have are rocks and some guns... Suicide bombings are the last resort. Put yourselves in their shoes and think of a way you'd fight back? What would you do if you have no more hope, no more faith let? I do not agree with suicide bombings, but see why they occur...

Islam is the final religion (Judaism, Christianity, and the Islam). The person who made that comment that " Muslims should not be friends with Jews and Christians" took the verse out of context.. Did you know that Islam considers Jews and Christians as people of the book? Muslims are descendants of Ishamael...

Last but not least, dont hate all of us because of the actions of a few of our people.

A rebuke and hate are far from synonyms. And, let's not forget, it was an abuse of Christianity to use the sword and hate--it is completely within the confines of the Koran to do this. Sura 5:51 says to take no friends of the Jews and Christians because to do so would be to bring their condemnation on yourself...And, let's not forget that the ONLY way for a Christian to be assured of salvation is to trust in the person of Jesus Christ. The ONLY way for a Muslim to be assured of salvation from Hell? To become a martyr in jihad...

The problem lies with the people whose hearts have been sealed.
Those who have no knowledge yet want to speak and be heard.

Muhammad never killed anyone, he only defended, unfortunately people didnt want him to defend himself...... and prob wanted him to sacrifice himself. That would be the same as suicide and we all know that suicide is forbidden in Islam.

There is always fabrications and lies towards Islam. And its like a ripple in the water, when one person starts, everyone joins in.

I saw that you commented on 9/11.
Well, I dont know how much of a video is true, but try watching a documentary on it.... loose change

Poooks,
Open your eyes, you are NOT threatened by ISlam, you are threatened by extremeits. Like I said, open your eyes, more Muslims are killed than non muslilms by these extrmeists.
And if you use common sense, its unlikely that these extremists are even muslims.

THANK YOU for voicing that out. I am a Muslim and this is what I tell when they tell me Islam preaches violence and that we are all terrorists.
As long as there have been religions in the world there has been violence and war in its name. How does this one make it any different and make an entire community guilty because of the actions of few.

People are always ignorats to what they do not know. Yet, those know understands.

In Library of Congress, Edwin H. Blashfeld's in Thomas Jefferson pained in the dome twelve seated figures represent the twelve countries, or epochs, which Blashfield felt contributed most to American civilization.

Jesus never said to kill in his name.
Muhammed taught and practiced violence in Allah's name.

Christians who used the sword were not following their leader.
Muslims who kill, ARE following their leader.

That is the difference.
It's not about judging. It's about what is right and wrong.
To not kill is right, to kill is wrong. How is that judging when Jesus told us so?

We don't hate Islam. We don't hate Musilms. We don't hate anyone (we're not supposed to)

But we hate their faith. We hate what Satan is trying to do to them. And we hate the fact they keep killing people and blowing stuff up.

Ever heard the expression
Love the sinner Hate the sin
Hard thing to do
