kegs come in 15.5 gals. and 2 kegs should be enough they also sell 5 to 7 gals. if you want to get different kinds of beer. depending on what everybody drinks, standard is rum, vodka, tequila, scotch or boubon, vermouth, olives(green), orange juice, coke, sprite, tonic water and soda water. you want to get fancy? sour mix for marguerita and mint leaves with sugar for mint julep ( with scotch or bourbon is best) as always drink responsibly. ask people to deposit car keys first and quick dial cab numbers for peace of mind.

You must consider the amount of time all these people will be there. I estimate that a average to heavy drinker will consume 2 16oz beers per hour. With 150 total guest the average number of people there at any given time will be around half. That would make 150 16oz beers per hour. If you consider spilling and waste, a keg will be around 110 beers. So I would plan for at least 1.5 kegs per hour. Liqueur will go a lot slower so you might only need 2 liter per hour of that.

My estimates of average to heavy drinking are low. But, that is because I hope you have 50% women. If it was all dudes then 4 beers per hour is more realistic.

2 Kegs of beer should do it. As far as liquor goes I'd stay away from it. Liquor and beer don't mix all that well. Then again if you have to I'd get a case of whiskey.

Figure about how much your heavy drinkers will drink first 8 cups of beer? 20 cups of beer? 4 mixed drinks? 7 mixed drinks? Plan it out by the ounces.

Forget the kegs, just buy the store

I think you focus on one mixed drink (like Margaritas or Mojitos) and then buy one keg. Other than that, have everyone else BYOB. (Unless you're rich and then average that each person will have 3 drinks - that's 450 drinks to supply...)

you should average one drink per guest per hour of your party - if they are heavy drinkers they may drink more, but some people will drink less and the one drink/hour is responsible anyway...

hopefully you'll have gracious guests who will bring liquor as a hostess gift!
