I am a dark brown-haired hispanic also, and I have natural coppery highlights randomly spread over my head, but I'd go with a lighter brown. Just make sure your hair gets *completely* bleached before it's colored, so the highlights don't get that ugly orange color.

I have medium brown hair, but my skin tone is darker with living in florida. Blonde tone highlights are prettier. They look more natural. Try to save up to get it done by a professional, you pay more but they know what they are doing and you won't look like some people who have made the mistake of just letting my friend do it for me to save money. Remember you have to live with it once it is done. So, do it right the first time.

Definitely not red, that doesn't look good
I'd go w/ a light brown, chestnut, caramel, copper, cocoa or w/e other brown colors they have. but nothing that's too dark, u want to b able to c the highlights. so something light.

funny how u can learn/remember the names of diff. brown colors from commercials

If you have dark brown hair, I would suggest doing either a lighter brown or caramel color. Even a dull red would work fine with your hair. But please, do not be tempted to get blonde highlights. All they do is make your hair look less natural.

I like how J Lo does hers, with the golden blonde streaks, plus lighter brown with the dark brown hair, it looks very natural. You should ask your local beauty salon they usually have hair samples that they can lay against your hair and then you can get a better picture of what you would really like.

Dark carmel. Shades that are just a little lighter than your natural tone. Don't do too light of blonde or you will look trashy.
