How embarrassing. Uhhhh, I don't know what to tell you. sounds like you are nervous. Relax and let the conversations flow.

The word "uhh" or "uh" and words such as "like" and phrases such as "you know" that are used frequently by a person in a single conversation or lecture are considered "fillers". They fill time while your brain searches for the next thing to say. In some cases they are bad habbits and the person using them doesn't even know it. In other cases they can be considered to show a lack of self confidence, such as during a job interview. Sometimes both. If used often by a teacher, the teacher will lose the students' interest and we will continue to see uneducated people in our society that like to use fillers in conversation. You need to try to stay conscience of the words you use as fillers and slowly break away from using them. Eventually you will not use them as part of your normal vocabulary and you will project a higher level of self confidence. This will increase your success potential with the ladies. To use them once in a while is normal. If you can break the habit, pay attention to your friends and acquaintences, notice how often they use fillers. If you pay attention, those fillers are a real distraction and take away from the subject of the conversation. Check your local community colleges and see if they offer any courses on communicating in society. Good luck. I was an instructor in the Army, teaching new privates. Holding their attention is ever so important. The Army tought me how to teach which has really changed my way of verbal communication in everyday life.
Oh yeah, and if your just meeting a chic and are having trouble with knowing what to say or keeping the conversation, either buy her another drink or get to the point. And about 75-80% of our communication is non-verbal. Meaning body language, gestures, eye contact etc... are more important in scoring with the ladies. Always project self-confidence. A little bit of cocky and humor works well.

I could not be too far off to say that you are an introvert , many extrovert loves to talk, some talk for the sake of talking, sometimes silence is golden, i too am an introvert, one trick i used every time, is to let the person do the talking, to encourage the person to talk, is to listen his last sentence and ask questions about what he just said, and let him continue, and if you have something similar to what he just say, tell him, he'll look for you for you the next time, & he'll think that you're the most fantastic person that he's ever met

just because you can't think of something to say doesn't mean you are slow. It is natural for people to have a word that they use. I had a teacher who would use the word okay. She would say it 100 times in a 30 min lecture. She was intelligent...but used a word to let her mind catch up...

"""i do that too so just try not to say anything at all and the other person will start talking""
hahah that was funny..
I do that, too. Or used to. I guess you just get nervous.. When you have nothing to say...just repeat what they say.. but in a different way.. get it?
""""The "Uhh..." of each language is based on what a stall in that language sounds like...
Japanese people go, "Ehh..."
Korean people go, "Mohhhh..."
The "Uhh..." will be based on how the language behaves. """"
And whats the reason cows go "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"?

Your problem is one of habit. Just like saying "like" or "you know" (the habit I have), or something of the sort. Just try your hardest not to say it and you wont. Just a little practice and cold turkey.
