I meditate. To me it is a way of nourishing my spirit and cleaning house inside. The mind gets so filled up with so much trash and clutter that it's near impossible to see and think clearly, or to spiritually hear anything. Meditation is spiritual and many religions use it. It is a tool. I sit quietly and let all my thoughts, anxieties, plans etc. go. I relax into the Moment and stay there enjoying what IS. I embrace the Peace and realize that most of everything that is going on inside me I have created myself and do it to myself. I let the purity of the Moment cleanse me and release me from my dreaming thought life, freeing me to return to Life a freer spirit.

Meditation doesn't neccesarily have to be associated with religion. I have an atheist friend who meditates simply because its relaxing for her and it helps her center. Meditation can be religious though. The best way to meditate depends on what you hope to achieve through meditation. If you're looking for meditative prayers, I'm sure you can find some through whatever church you attend. If you're looking for a non-religious form of meditation, you can check this site out: http://www.lucistrust.org/meditation/intromed0.shtml

Yes, I meditate. I think it can be religious but not strictly a religious practice. There are many techniques to meditate. Each person must find what works best for them.

In the Catholic Church, the telling of the Rosary is a form of meditation. It is very much prayer or prayer-like behavior. Certain Eastern religions have made meditation a centerpiece, in order to attempt enlightenment. In general, private, quiet reflection is a good place to start.

Yes, and both. A good method of meditation is the practice of mindfulness. It is common to all religions.

i do not associate it with religion. i usually choose a place to gather my thoughts when needed. sometimes a bathroom will do. i use meditation to clear my mind throughout the day. but i also set aside a little time each day for reflection, to calm my soul. usually in the morning and a little longer in the evening. i think everyone has their own particular style, but you can use prayer if you like.
