For example, the Mavs lost the game yesterday, would you say that is the will of God?

God is soveriegn, and everything that happens is according to His will. Sometimes God even has to allow bad things to happen to make people turn to him or to help people trust in Him.

I hate people without brains. If God made it so nothing bad ever happened to anyone wouldn't MORE people turn to him??? Yet above is some guy claiming he has to let bad things happen to do the same thing. Pfft. No, the Mav's lost because the Heat are a better team. Dwayne Wade is the man.

Not necessarily true. Yes, with God all things are possible....but there's free will. That's why God gave us minds to make our own decisions. And there are negative forces working as well. Sadly, it's not just God who may help us to make a decision. God is also not completely out of the picture when it comes to these things, He is there too so that once the decision has been made, be it good or bad, He is there to help us throughout the rough or rewarding times.

If everything that happens is the will of God, then clearly God is quite sadistic and cruel and takes delight in seeing His/Her/It's creation suffer. It's all so much easier to put our intellects aside and just accept that some great being somewhere is responsible and to hope that this being really does have a plan that will bring about happiness for at least some of His/Her/It's creation. Unfortunately, there is no verifiable evidence for the existence of such a being, no verifiable evidence for a plan to the universe with or without such a being, and no moral reason to escape our responsibility to use our intellects to manage this planet and human civilization much better than we appear to be doing at present.

I believe that God gives us our own will to decide what to do. We CHOOSE to follow Him or to follow Satan. We CHOOSE to disobey or to obey. I do believe that God will guide us if we ask him to. You take a look at Job in the bible. God allowed things to happen to him but didn't not let Satan actually harm him. And Job still followed God. God doesn't want us to sin, but he doesn't stop us. He is a loving God and wants us to choose him on our own, not be made to choose him. So, God could control the world if he wanted to, but he allows us to do so instead.

GOD has a plan for everything. And actually HE knows what will happen before it does - it's all worked out already!
Nothing happens that GOD doen't want to happen.

All things happen for a reason, but you have to understand- we have free will and if you go rob a bank or kill someone, it isn't because God wanted you to do so, it is because you chose to do so. There is a difference.

Everything that happens is Not the will of God. He knows how to weave His tapestry around it to ultimately the circumstance to achieve His will. Killing, lying, cheating, and other sins as such are not His will.
