The remote wire needs to be hooked up to +12 volts to turn the amp on, you can wire a switch in line with the +12 going to the remote wire so that you can turn the amp on and off without having to unplug anything.

You would need an AC to DC converter capable oh supplying as many amps as you plan on drawing from it. You will run the positive AND negative(ground) from the converter. Just run the REM wire from the 12+ on the converter.
Amps don't run at any ohm, if you knew anything about electronics, you would know this. You can hook up an 8 ohm speaker to a car audio amp without any ill effects. It is when you start lowering the ohms of your speakers that you run into problems....

Yes every thing is the same except the power source, The only thing you need extra is a 12V power supply.

as long as the inputs on your amp can accept the outputs on the reciever/tuner it will work as for the remote just connect that to the positive power connection. and it might have a buzzing or humming sound in your speakers.

It is possible, you just need the wires, knowledge and time. I'd personally stick with a home audio appliance, which is a lot safer and easier to install.

I don't know why you need home power. If the battery is charged, just use the battery. If you connect a car stereo to 110v, you will fry it.
