I like to give people hope that Jesus has freed them from sin and guilt and hell. I hate to see people suffering under what the church has taught for so long.
There is message about Jesus that I cannot keep inside.

God alone will judge everyone. It is not up to Christians to judge.
Christians should spread the truth without beating the word to the masses. Plant seeds and let God water and germinate that seed.
Look it this way. You live in a house full of siblings. the house is on fire. If you love your sibling you will try to save them. If you know the way out of the house you will point the way out. If they don't want to.. well, you know what will happen to them.
Another example, look at the situation when hurricane Katrina came about. People were asked to evacuate, most did. But, some didn't, a lot of them that didn't died.
I hope this helps..

If people didn't want to hear about religion, then they wouldn't post questions about it, right? If they're asking, there's nothing wrong with answering. You shouldn't feel that you're pushing anything on them. Granted, one thing I can't stand is what I call a "Jesus-pusher", someone that's always preaching and lecturing about religion. But I do believe that we as Christians have an obligation to witness when we can. Be proud of your religion and the freedom that you have to chose it. I personally don't "preach" to people all the time, although I do make it known that I believe in God without going overboard.
Like I said, if people didn't want to know anything about religion, they wouldn't be posting the questions. So do your thing, my friend, and answer the questions as you see fit without feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

If someone asks a question about God or the Bible I will tell them the truth about whats in the Bible and about God. Sometimes it will offend. Because the gospel does offend. I always say that it's what God says. I just point them to the truth. I don't say what I believe just what God says. God's Word is never void. If you think about it to the lost we sound crazy. But to the searching we give hope and point them to what they are looking for. A savior. Always pray for an answer. Make sure you answer in love.

I was raised a Christian, but now am confused about the religion aspect. However, I can tell you that they only time a Christian sounds like a "Bible beater" is whenever they get too pushy and that's all they'll talk about. To avoid sounding like a "Bible beater" all the time, try to insert comments about yourself instead of just constant references to the Bible. I know that this is what makes me listen better.

Yahoo Answers is NOT a substitute for ACTUAL witnessing. Jesus Christ was quite explicit regarding the work that he assigned to the Christian congregation:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. 3 Go forth. Look! I am sending you forth as lambs in among wolves. ...16 “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards [also] him that sent me forth.”

I people have questions then I'm glad to help them. There are a lot of misconceptions and ignorance about organized religion. Especially the Catholic Church. If I can help clear some of that up then great. I guess if it helps someone, then yes in a way it is witnessing.

Yes I do believe that we are witnessing to people when we answer questions. If people would open their hearts to what we say about what God has done for us in our lives maybe they will see what a mighty God he is. Keep spreading God's word and he will reward you in Heaven one day!!

When your belief is being attacked, it's very difficult to expect a uniform answer. There will be wise answers as well as hateful answers. It surely will depend on how the one answering understand it or how he will take it if he understand it. We all were raised in different environments and social influences and expectedly will naturally react or think accordingly. I believe Scneb is right. His answer gave a very logical thought and I think he has the best answer.
