As a Muslim woman living in the US since I was 4, trust me, I am not oppressed... the best way to go about converting is to go to the local Masjid or contacting the Shura (Governing Board of the Masjid), you will be contacted by a sister who will show you everything you need to know and hopefully you'll find the support you need as well.. in any case, you can email me at (kahtifah@yahoo.com) and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Islam is a beautiful religion and contrary to popular belief, it does not oppress women.....it is ignorant, uneducated men who oppress women. I am a woman who converted to Islam 5 years ago and I have never felt more free, content and happy.......Islam has given women so many rights and freedoms.....and this started over 1400 years ago.....Western governments of today only started giving women their due rights in the last 100 years!!
If you would like to know more about women in Islam and how you can find out about converting feel free to contact me through my online group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Welcome-2-Islam
(Please note it is a group for women only.)

i would be very careful about going to Islam. It is not the true religion, but a religion used to take converts and put them into situations that are not of the truth

Before you convert you need to:
- Learn about True Islam.
- Understand its values and morals.
- Practice them
and when you are ready, you can reach the nearest mosque and they will help you at the startup

Why a *WOMAN* would want to convert to Islam is beyond me!?!?! Do you realize how muslim women are treated? I believe that if you did, you wouldnt want to become Islam. Hell, for the same experience, just build a time machine and travell to back to the 1700s, its the same thing.
