Obviously Al-Qaeda was a group created to fight Israel and the nations of the West, especially the US, through whatever terrible means neccesary. But why does Bin Laden twist Islamic laws and the content of the Qur'an in order to attack the US. Islam actually condemns most of his actions. Why is it still necessary for him to carry out these attacks, and why did his hatred of America reach the level it is at today? What could we have done to create his anti-American views, and are we still acting in that way? If the US stopped these actions would it make any difference in the way he acted toward America. Wondering what people have to say and why they feel that way.

Some verses from the Qur'an:

"But if the enemy incline towards PEACE,do thou (also) incline towards PEACE and trust in Allah:for he is the one that beareth and knoeth (all things)". {8:61}.

"But Allah doth call to the home of PEACE:He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight." {10:25}

"and the servants of Allah Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant address them ,they say,PEACE". {25:63}

"But turn away from them, and say PEACE But soon shall they know." {43:89}

Simple, he is a nut job. He believes that anyone that does not agree with him should die. He hates America because we support the Saudi Arabian government, and Israel, and we stand for everything he disagrees with, like Every person is created equal. I don't think his opinion of America will ever change because his hatred of everything we stand for will never change.

With that said, honestly we as America should look at some of our blind support of these countries such as Saudi Arabia. A lot of the money for AL-Qaeda comes from Saudi Arabia. Including money used in the attacks on 9/11. If we want to truly fight a war on terror, we should first pull all troops and aid out of Saudi Arabia, then take out Bin Laden when Al-Qaeda takes over Saudi Arabia.

We also have to admit that Israel is not always in the right.

Doing this would eliminate a lot of Anti Americanism through out the Islam world and may help to prevent the next Bin Laden.

Osama's main problem with the USA is the presence of U.S troops in Saudi Arabia, which houses Islams holiest sites of Mecca and Medina. This dates back to the first gulf war in 1991.

In truth however it all stems back to the struggle for global Ummah and Sharia law.

Osama himself is now just a figurehead and the bulk of his followers are more fanatical and less rationale than he is. This is now a war against our society, values and way of life.

Its not islam against christianity as some would want you to believe, but a very radical and severe interpretation of Islam by some people against secularism. Unfortunately the majority of peace loving muslims, are either too afraid and respectful, or do not have the moral courage to stand up and reclaim their religion from the mullahs and fanatics.

Osama Bin Laden has a couple of motives:

Here they are in order of importance:

1) Osama believes the presence of westerners and western influences/military in the middle east are an insult to Islam.

2) Osama believes in the destruction of Israel, and the US supports Israel.

3) Osama believes in Sharia law, in other words that all of the world should be subject to the strictest interpretations of the Islamic bible, the Quran.

This would mean women have no rights. Women can't be educated, drive a car, date men, vote, go outside without a male escort, go outside with being fully covered, no one can drink alcohol, have premarital sex, watch movies, listen to music...the list goes on and on.. Fun stuff huh?

Actually, you'll find that its not just Bin Laden. In fact Bin Laden had very little to do with any of this terrorism. If you want to know who funded it all and provided all the weapons, and who actually took Bin Laden's family to a safe hideout during 9/11 - look no further than your Whitehouse and Pentagon.

Fhucking idiot.

The previous post by Wordofgods was good. Bin Laden has very clearly stated his aims & specific problems with the US. You must firs tunderstand that he is not aiming for a world slightly changed in the way the US is capable of doing, but one that is radically different.

He believes the Qu'ran calls for a greater Islamic state. That means a single theocratic government (confederation) much like Iran's but Sunni extremist in full practice of Shria, more like the Taliban actually. That this state should start with the uniting of the middle east (including Israel), followed by the reclaimation of the previous Islamic empire (that's the balkans, Turkey, Mid East, North Africa, & Spain), and finally the conquest of the world by Islam. When Christians see in the bible the passage about spreading the gospel they believe that means giving people the chance to chose their religion; when muslims see a similar passage they believe it means converting the world by force, killing those that refuse, & subjegating all under what they see as God's law. Many sects have prophecies about this, believing that varrious Imams will come back to earth (Iran's Pres apparently thinks he's talking to one in a well) at varrious stages of the conquest to show that this is the will of God & to provide guidance & leadership in the next stage. Of course ending with the return of God to earth where Paradise will be established for all believers & evil destroyed for all times. This is their version of Revelations, and they've been actively trying to cause it to happen for literally 1000 years.

The second motive, is that several middle east regiemes are not committed to the above motive - meaning they are more free & less bound by hardline Islam, & oppress the extremists who try to foce it on everyone. Saudi Arabia is the prime example of this, and as they enact further reforms at their slow pace the hardliners believe it is the corrupting influence of the US supporting oppressive leaders (oppressive of Islamic extremists & terrorists mind you) & trying to westernize the world (meaning destroy their version of Islam). They felt that the presence of our troops (in Saudi on request to defend against an Iraqi invasion) several hundred miles away from their holy sites is a threat to all Islam just as if it were a crusader army occupying & desicrating Mecca (at least that's how they sell it).

Finally there's Israel. They believe the jewish people are unclean & not of God. They believe that all Jews everywhere (ethnic or religious) must be killed (yes Nazi style - see link below). They believe that Israel should be removed from the map & replaced by a Muslim state aligned with the rest of the islamic world in preperation for the return of God. They believe that any who support Israel in any way, morally, financially, or otherwise, are the hand of Satan acting against their holy work.

There is actually a better basis for these beliefs in the Qu'ran than some of the Christian beliefs I've seen can draw from the bible. This is not the modern world these people are living in though, and there is no way we can surrender to their demands, not even the slightest compromise, because we're negotiating with our souls - not religiously, but in that they are trying to reshape the entire world into something that shouldn't be acceptable to us in any little part of it.

As far as retreat, we did pull troops back from Saudi Arabia even before we went into Afghanistan & moved them to Kuwait & Bahrain (where their peoples love their governing royal families & they they have no problems with westernization). Doing so created an imbalance in the middle east with regards to Saddam & was one of the cause for which we ultimately had to go to war there (WMD was always justification for the rest of the world - we did believe they had it, but that didn't make it a priority or relate to the war on terror). A couple years ago Bin Laden put out a tape offering an amistice with Europe if it would withdrawl its troops. It did not, there were bombings in Spain, an attack on Italian troops, & London attack. Spain & Italy withdrew after their attacks & handed Bin Laden giant victories, the UK has stood strong with us.

What makes you think he's twisting the content of the Qur'an. It instructs believers to destroy infidels. Americans are infidels. Doesn't sound like he's twisting anything. Islam is a violent religion with a violent "God".
